We are pleased to announce that Why R? 2019 Conference will be organized by the Why R? Foundation. The third official meeting of Polish R enthusiasts will be held in Warsaw 26-29 September 2019. As the meeting is held in English, we are happy to invite R users from other countries.
Faculty of Economic Sciences at, University of Warsaw is an elite unit that educates an overall of 2000 students each year. Its educational offer is rich and diverse, and includes undergraduate, graduate and doctoral studies in economics and finance. Our programmes cover subjects falling within the domain of modern economic with compliance to high European standards. A recent evaluation of scientific institutes in Poland by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education has once again attested to the Faculty’s excellence in the field of economics in Poland that was awarded the top evaluation of A+.
The Faculty runs more than sixty national and international research projects, funded by, among others, the European Union, the National Centre for Research and Development, the National Science Centre, and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The projects range from behavioral economics to macroeconomic modeling. Faculty members consistently produce quality research output, much of it published in prestigious international journals and leading Polish journals.

On the 27th of September we organize meetings of Special Interest Groups,
where participants of WhyR 2019 can discuss their experiences in three specific areas:
This board aims to inspire members of affinity groups to pursue careers in data science. We hope that this platform for networking will reduce the diversity of R community. Moderator: Barbara Sobkowiak.
Participants of WhyR will have a chance to learn from more experienced R enthusiasts about their career paths. Moderator: Kamil Kosiński.
Practitioners will share their experiences in introducing their students to basic and advanced concepts of data science. Moderator: Leon Eyrich Jessen.
Discuss data visualizations good practices and approaches to various presentation challenges. Moderator: Michał Burdukiewicz.
With the increased importance of machine learning, we are becoming more and more concerned about the ethics of data science. Moderator: Steph Locke.
